Establishing Power Transmission in Arknights: Endfield

Setting up a functional factory in Arknights: Endfield requires players to master various mechanics, from resource extraction to automated production lines. One of the foundational tasks, often encountered early in the game, is establishing a power network to activate the Protocol Resonance Tower. This process, while seemingly straightforward, can initially be a source of confusion for new players. This guide aims to demystify the steps involved in deploying Relay Towers and connecting them to ensure a consistent power supply, thereby activating your Automation Core and advancing your objectives on Talos-II. By understanding these initial power-grid principles, players can efficiently prepare their base for the challenges and complexities of factory management that lie ahead.

Powering Up Your Base: A Step-by-Step Guide

Initiating the Energy Flow: From PAC to the First Relay Tower

Upon arriving on Talos-II and successfully neutralising the Ankhor at the AIC Research Center, players must first clear out Landbreakers from the Hub Base Power Plant. This action paves the way for the deployment of the PAC (Production Automation Core). Once the PAC is established, a critical directive emerges: "Transmit power to the Protocol Resonance Tower." This task necessitates the strategic placement of Power Relays and their interlinking with cables, a process that can seem perplexing at first glance. The initial step is to position a Relay Tower within the operational radius of the PAC Automation Core. This establishes the primary point for power distribution from your central processing unit.

Extending the Network: Connecting Multiple Relay Towers

With the first Relay Tower in place, the next phase involves extending the power network. Players need to interact with the initial tower (by pressing 'F') to "start transmission," and then drag a power cable towards the designated objective located further to the south. As you advance along the path, an outline for a subsequent tower will materialise. Here, you must deploy a second Relay Tower by selecting it ('1') and placing it within the highlighted zone. Once positioned, press 'F' again to connect the dragged cable to this new tower, energising it and extending the power link. This establishes a crucial intermediary node in your power grid.

Reaching the Destination: Final Connections to the Protocol Resonance Tower

The process of extending the power network continues by repeating the previous steps. After connecting the second Relay Tower, interact with it ('F') to initiate another transmission. Continue pulling the cable towards the next objective, following the visual cues for where the next tower outline will appear. Place a third Relay Tower as before and connect the cable to it. Finally, from this last Relay Tower, draw the power cable towards its ultimate destination: the Protocol Resonance Tower. Once connected, the power transmission to the Protocol Resonance Tower, and its guardian Andre, will be complete, fulfilling the 'Valley Reboot' quest and bringing your Automation Core fully online.

Managing Your Power Grid: Relocating and Optimising Towers

In total, successfully powering the Automation Core and the Protocol Resonance Tower requires the strategic placement and connection of three Relay Towers, including the initial one. This cable-dragging and connection mechanic is a fundamental aspect of resource management in Arknights: Endfield and will become second nature as you progress through the game. Should you inadvertently place a Relay Tower in an undesirable location, the game provides a convenient solution: simply interact with the misplaced tower, navigate to the "Facility Details" menu, and select the "Stash" option. This allows for the relocation or removal of towers, providing flexibility in optimising your power network and ensuring efficient resource flow across your factory operations.
