Prolific television creator ("Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal") and author on creativity and empowerment.

In an effort to highlight the intersection of media and environmental advocacy, The Hollywood Reporter, in collaboration with the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, will host its first-ever Sustainability in Entertainment Honors. This exclusive gathering, scheduled for April 23 at the prestigious Bel-Air Hotel, is set to commend three television productions for their significant contributions to ecological storytelling and green production practices.

This year's honorees include ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" for its enduring commitment to sustainable narratives, Hulu's "Paradise" for excellence in environmental storytelling, and the Duffer Brothers' forthcoming Netflix series "The Boroughs," debuting May 21, for its achievements in sustainable production. Noteworthy figures from these acclaimed shows, including Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. from "Grey's Anatomy," Sarah Shahi and the creative minds behind "Paradise," and the showrunners of "The Boroughs," Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews, are expected to attend and accept their accolades. Further details regarding participants will be released leading up to the event.

Adding a powerful voice to the evening, former Vice President Al Gore, renowned for his work on the Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," will lead a pivotal discussion on the current state of sustainability, marking the film's two-decade milestone. The event will also feature a vibrant panel comprising leading industry executives and creative professionals dedicated to environmental causes within Hollywood, further solidifying the alliance's mission to foster a more eco-conscious entertainment landscape.

This initiative represents a significant step towards inspiring positive environmental change within the entertainment industry. By recognizing projects that not only entertain but also educate and encourage sustainable practices, the event champions a future where creativity and environmental responsibility go hand in hand, fostering a collective commitment to a healthier planet.
