Motorola Solutions delivered an exceptionally strong second quarter in 2026, showcasing robust financial growth driven by diverse business segments. The company's revenue saw a significant 13% increase, while its non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) jumped by 24% to $4.41. This impressive performance allowed Motorola Solutions to elevate its full-year financial forecasts, reflecting continued confidence in its strategic initiatives and market position. The firm also highlighted key acquisitions and infrastructure developments that are set to fuel future expansion.

Motorola Solutions, led by Chairman and CEO Greg Brown, declared Q2 2026 an outstanding period. The company's land mobile radio (LMR) systems and its Silvus business demonstrated particular strength, contributing to a substantial 13% rise in overall revenue. Non-GAAP operating earnings exceeded $1 billion, marking a 26% increase year-over-year. This was further enhanced by a $60 million benefit from refunds tied to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which significantly boosted the non-GAAP operating margin to 32.9%.

The Products and Systems Integration division experienced a 15% revenue surge, primarily fueled by demand in mission-critical networks and video solutions. Noteworthy contracts included a $36 million order for P25 devices and SVX from a U.S. federal client, alongside other significant P25 device and infrastructure awards. Similarly, the Software and Services segment reported a 10% revenue increase, with key wins such as a $24 million P25 services contract and major command center and mobile video orders from various public safety agencies. Motorola Solutions also expanded its market reach by introducing body-worn and in-car video products, integrated with responder AI Assist, to new clients like the Florida Highway Patrol and Kansas City Police Department.

Looking ahead, Motorola Solutions' total backlog reached a record $15.6 billion, signaling strong future demand. The Silvus business is projected to generate approximately $850 million in revenue for the full year, supported by increased manufacturing capacity and a doubled sales force. The D-Series P25 infrastructure platform is anticipated to drive growth in the latter half of the year, with its upgrade cycle expected to extend into the 2030s. The company also confirmed its plan to finalize the $1.5 billion acquisition of D-Fend Solutions, a counter-drone technology firm, in the second half of 2026, which will be partly financed through new debt.

Motorola Solutions' updated financial outlook for 2026 predicts full-year revenue of approximately $12.975 billion and non-GAAP EPS in the range of $17.62 to $17.72. The company foresees continued growth across all its technology segments, with mission-critical networks, video, and command center solutions each contributing significantly. Despite an expected rise in direct memory spending, the company anticipates maintaining its gross margin at last year's level while expanding its operating margin by about 170 basis points, underscoring its commitment to operational efficiency and sustained profitability.
