Journey to Heroism: Unlocking New Legends in Dreamlight Valley
Initiating the Hero's Path: Accessing the Hercules Realm
To commence your heroic journey, your initial task involves unlocking the Hercules realm within the Dream Castle. This requires an investment of 11,000 Dreamlight. Upon successfully opening the realm, even before stepping inside, the "Moonlighting as a Hero" quest will automatically begin, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter.
The First Challenge: Unraveling the Moonlighting as a Hero Quest
Upon entering the Hercules realm, you'll witness a cinematic sequence featuring Phil. Follow him through the forest, specifically to the right, until you reach a plinth encircled by thorns. Engage in conversation with Phil, who will reveal Hercules' disappearance and request your assistance. Interact with the thorns to receive a perplexing message from Artemis. Return to Phil, who will decipher the message and instruct you to locate a Moon Headband within the realm. This item is conveniently situated in the water body directly behind Phil; use your fishing rod to retrieve it and place it on the nearby pedestal. Phil will then ask you to gather additional offerings for Artemis: three Greek Clay, three Greek Flowers, and three Sylvan Wood, all obtainable within the realm. Once these are placed on the pedestal, the Moon Headband will radiate a glow. Equip the headband and accompany Phil to the training arena, clearing any night thorns obstructing your path. Upon arrival, Phil will challenge you to complete an obstacle course. Navigate through the starting line, ensuring your Moon Headband remains equipped, and clear night thorns while igniting five Moonlight Beacons. Enhancing your stamina for gliding will significantly expedite your completion within the two-minute time limit. After completing the course and a final discussion with Phil, you'll return to the initial pedestal, lighting it to disperse the fog. Continue lighting pedestals throughout the woods until a cutscene unveils Hercules amidst three swirling water fountains. Speak with Hercules to conclude this quest, seamlessly transitioning into the "Speedrun Crash Course" quest.
Mastering Speed and Skill: The Speedrun Crash Course Quest
Return to the forest to converse with the reunited Hercules and Phil. They will explain the necessity of Hermes' aid, in the form of Winged Boots, to reach the temple. Mine these boots from the marble pile to the left of your current location and simultaneously collect five glowing Pegasus Feathers scattered throughout the forest. Deliver these items to Phil, who will guide you to the Hermes pedestal in the arena. Placing the items on the pedestal and speaking with Hercules will reveal that Hermes requires a "Legendary Meal." To prepare this, collect one Aegean Delights, one Legendary Goldfish, one Greek Cheeses, one Greek Fruits and Veggies, and one Giant Lettuce from across the Hercules realm. Utilize the firepit at the arena entrance to cook the meal. Present the Legendary Meal at the Hermes pedestal, causing the Winged Boots to glow. Equip them and proceed to the starting line of the Hermes obstacle course. As before, collecting five feathers during this course is crucial, and utilizing stamina for gliding will ensure a swift completion within five minutes. Upon finishing, you'll return to the dark forest to speak with Hercules. He will confirm your readiness to traverse the storm to the temple. Interact with the Hermes symbol at the cliff edge to cross, marking the end of this quest and the beginning of "Thunderstruck."
Facing Divine Obstacles: The Thunderstruck Quest
Hercules and Phil promptly inform you that the temple gate is sealed. Your next task involves solving a rotating floor puzzle to unlock it. Manipulate the levers until the lightning-emitting cloud aligns with your position. A mechanism will then emerge, allowing you to retrieve the Stone Bracers Mould. Present this to Hercules, who will request six Hephaestus Coals, ten Orichalcum Ore, and ten Greek Marble Fragments. While most Orichalcum Ore and Hephaestus Coals are found on the current island, marble fragments and additional coals are located in the dark forest and arena respectively. Collect all these materials and craft the Golden Bracers at the crafting bench to the left of the temple entrance. Place the Golden Bracers on the Zeus pedestal. Before entering the temple, you must choose to make Zeus laugh, cry, or become angry. Opting for laughter, I consulted Scrooge McDuck, Merlin, and Goofy for jokes in the valley. After returning to Hercules and sharing a joke, the Golden Bracers will glow. Equip them to shatter the rocks and chains obstructing the temple entrance. Follow Hercules and Phil inside, speaking with Phil, who explains that mischievous alterations have been made to the mosaic. You are then tasked with finding the missing pieces, concluding "Thunderstruck" and initiating "A Real Godly Mess."
Restoring Harmony: The Real Godly Quest
Your objective is to locate six mosaic pieces within the temple, easily identifiable by their bright golden glow. Many are hidden behind large rocks, so keep your Golden Bracers equipped to break them. Once all six pieces are collected, deliver them to Phil and interact with the mosaic to reassemble it. This puzzle is similar to those encountered in the Storybook Vale DLC, requiring you to drag and drop pieces into their correct positions. Upon completion, a cutscene will depict the restoration of peace within the realm. You will then invite Phil and Hercules to join you in the valley. Hercules will readily accept, but Phil will express his need to investigate the mosaic's rearrangement further. Return to the valley, place Hercules' house plans, and pay 10,000 Star Coins at the Scrooge McDuck sign. Once his house is constructed, the "Welcome Hercules" screen will appear. However, the quest is not yet complete. You must then prepare a 5-star meal for Phil; I chose Aurora's Cake using available ingredients. Deliver the meal to Phil in the Hercules realm, who, though tempted, will insist on uncovering the mosaic's saboteur. Offer your assistance, prompting you to "check the temple." Head directly to the mosaic to find a spool of Dreamlight Thread on the floor, which you must retrieve and give to Phil. Convince Phil that joining you in Dreamlight Valley will aid his investigation, which he will accept. Upon returning to the valley, the "Welcome Phil" cutscene will play. After a brief conversation, "A Real Godly Quest" will conclude, enabling you to embark on Hercules' and Phil's individual friendship quests.
