Envista Holdings Corporation (NYSE:NVST) has unveiled a robust financial performance for the second quarter of 2026, demonstrating significant growth across its key segments. The company reported impressive sales figures, a substantial increase in profitability, and a confident upward revision of its full-year financial projections. This positive momentum is largely attributed to strong market demand, strategic product launches, and efficient operational management.
Envista's Stellar Second Quarter: Growth, Innovation, and Future Prospects
In the second quarter of 2026, which concluded on August 8, Envista achieved total sales of $731 million. This represents a commendable increase of just over 7% compared to the previous year, with core revenue expanding by 5%. This growth was bolstered by favorable foreign exchange rates and strategic acquisitions. Paul Keel, President and Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the balanced growth observed across both of the company's reporting segments and major geographical markets, underscoring the resilience of the dental sector amidst broader economic uncertainties. The first half of 2026 saw an overall core growth rate of 7% for the company.
Profitability metrics also showcased significant improvement. Adjusted EBITDA surged by 28% year-over-year, and the adjusted EBITDA margin expanded by 230 basis points, reaching 14.7%. Adjusted earnings per share climbed by 58% to $0.41. Furthermore, Envista generated a robust $105 million in free cash flow during the quarter, achieving a 158% conversion rate, and repurchased approximately 2.4 million shares at an average price of $24 per share.
Segment-wise, the Equipment and Consumables division led the charge with an 8.5% core sales growth, driven by high-single-digit increases in both consumables and diagnostics. Mr. Keel noted that consumables benefited from their insulation from macroeconomic volatility, as their products support insurance-covered procedures. The diagnostics market also experienced a recovery after a multi-year post-COVID contraction. The Specialty Products & Technologies segment reported a 3.1% core sales growth and nearly 6% total revenue growth. Spark clear aligners, in particular, delivered double-digit growth. The company attributed this outperformance to market share gains, effective commercial and operational strategies, and the introduction of new products.
Envista continues to prioritize innovation, launching several new products during the quarter. These include ZenSeal Pro, a bioceramic endodontic sealer, and Demi Pro, a lightweight cordless curing light. In orthodontics, the company expanded its Ormco Digital Bonding (ODB) platform to encompass all its bracket systems, positioning Envista as a comprehensive solution provider in both clear aligners and fixed orthodontics. Ongoing investments in implants, such as the successful S-series implant launch and the strong performance of the Versah acquisition, further underscore the company's commitment to growth.
Looking ahead, Envista anticipates potential pricing pressures in the second half of 2026 due to China's volume-based procurement (VBP) programs for orthodontics and implants. Management expects orthodontics VBP1 to result in price compression similar to the initial implant VBP (around 45% decline), while implant VBP2 is projected to see a smaller price reduction of 10% to 15%. Despite these challenges, the company expects moderate growth in China, especially in the fourth quarter. Chief Financial Officer Eric Hammes projected approximately 3.5% core growth in the second half on a normalized basis.
Reflecting its strong performance and positive outlook, Envista has revised its 2026 guidance upwards. The company now projects core sales growth between 3.5% and 4.5%, adjusted EBITDA growth of 11% to 14%, and adjusted EPS in the range of $1.50 to $1.55. Free cash flow conversion is expected to be approximately 100% of adjusted net income. Envista plans to host an investor day on September 17, 2026, to provide further updates on its value creation strategy, financial advancements, and innovation priorities.
This impressive quarterly performance underscores Envista's strategic agility and its ability to thrive in a dynamic market. The company's focus on innovation, market share expansion, and operational efficiency positions it for continued success. Investors will be keenly watching the upcoming investor day for further insights into Envista's long-term growth trajectory and its ability to navigate future market shifts.
